The Greenville County Recreation District worked with Churchich Recreation to create a park along the Reedy River with a natural theme wrapped in earth tones. With the incorporation of Rocks and Ropes equipment and some of Miracle’s latest 2011 products, the end result is an organic, exciting play experience that engages children and encourages activity.

Squirrel Lake Park

As part of an overall renovation project for the 29 acre Squirrel Lake Park in Matthews, NC, Churchich Recreation worked with Charlotte’s Haden Stanziele and Greenville’s DP3 Architects to install a Poligon shelter within a central congregation point among the features of this popular recreation area.

University of South Carolina, Honors Residence

Wabash Valley tables and chairs were selected by Garvin Design Group of Columbia, SC. The furniture was chosen to complement the historic design of the building and for its durability in withstanding the elements for long-term, outside use. PVC-coated material keeps the chairs and tables cool in the hot summer months even with the black color.

Friarsgate Park

In early 2010, Richland County Parks in South Carolina evaluated competitive offerings from outdoor equipment manufacturers and solution partners. As a Miracle representative, Churchich Recreation & Design was able to utilize very competitive pricing offered by Miracle because of its unique manufacturing approach. By the end of May, Churchich Recreation provided a complete, turn-key solution, including the equipment, wood fiber, timbers, installation and storage during preparation for 7 park upgrades throughout the Richland County Park system. The playgrounds were designed to be “ADA ramped” which means that wheelchairs can access almost all parts of the structure because of low grade ramps that connect the play events. All playgrounds must meet ADA requirements but not all have to be ADA ramped.

Mt. Pleasant Academy

Mt. Pleasant Academy was the first of several ongoing projects that Charleston County School District is completing through new construction and renovations.

Charleston County partnered with Churchich Recreation on all of these projects to reduce time and effort in the bidding process and to maintain consistency across all district schools. By purchasing off the Beaufort County Schools existing contract, CCSD is able to receive the same discounts and product selection without the hassles of RFPs or bidding each project. Churchich Recreation has worked in partnership with each of the principals, construction management teams and contractors to ensure timely delivery and installation of each of the playgrounds. Mt. Pleasant’s playground is unique in that 30% was funded by the PTA on top of what the district was already allowing for. The playground is a combination of a traditional Miracle structure along with new motion-related individual play pieces from Xccent that have proven to be a real hit with the kids.

St. Gregory, The Great School

St. Gregory Catholic Church embarked on building a brand new K-8 school next to the large sanctuary in Bluffton, SC. The church committee members developed a comprehensive list of features and play structures that they wished to have included in their play space. Churchich Recreation & Design incorporated each requested feature into a complete outdoor recreation space including two Miracle play structures, basketball hoops, surfacing and a wood shelter with complete site amenities.

Herdklotz Park

The project was a design-build RFP for a large play structure on an extremely difficult site due to elevation changes and existing park trees. Churchich Recreation’s unique Miracle design offered many more play elements than competitors and lead directly to Churchich Recreation’s awarding of the project. Following installation of the play structure, two park shelters were added. The project was completed in 2005 and remains one of the most popular park sites in Greenville County.

Farmer’s Market Poligon Shelter

The Fountain Inn Farmer’s Market in Fountain Inn, SC, features the largest wood structure ever created by Poligon. This collaboration between DP3 Architects, Smith-Kellet Contracting LLC and Churchich Recreation offers this outdoor market a custom facility at pre-engineered pricing. Combined with a 10 year warranty, the structure offers a low cost-of-ownership.

Alice Birney Middle School

Churchich Recreation & Design provided a complete, turnkey solution for the Alice Birney Middle School in Charleston, SC.

The project required the coordination and installation of rubber surfacing, Miracle Playground equipment and Wabash Valley site amenities for the school’s recreational facilities.
